ELEKTRA is an international media and contemporary digital art organization based in Montreal (Quebec, Canada) presenting artists and works that combine creative technological genres, such as installation, video, cinema, performance, design, audio, music, art games and interactive arts. Founded in 1999, the ELEKTRA Festival is its major annual event. In tandem with the Festival, every year ELEKTRA holds the International Marketplace for Digital Art. Since 2012, ELEKTRA is also the producer of the BIAN, the International Digital Art Biennale, focusing on new media installations, exhibitions and public art. Its main exhibition takes place at Arsenal Contemporary Art. On the international scene, ELEKTRA plays the role of ambassador of contemporary digital art by disseminating the practices of both emerging and established artists. We have presented Quebec artists at international festivals, exhibitions and events including in Paris (FR) from 2010 to 2019, Brussels (BE) in 2013, London (UK) and Roma (IT) in 2015, New York (US) in 2016, Seoul (KR) from 2010 to 2019, Marseille & Aix-en-Provence (FR) in 2018. Since 2002, ELEKTRA has also logistically and financially facilitated the presence of Quebec artists in South Korea, Japan, Netherlands, France, Austria, Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Senegal and Morocco.
